Veterans for Peace
Ted Hughes, a member of Veterans for Peace (VFP), has told me about the VFP Korea Peace Campaign, run by John Kim. The VFP will also list a two-paragraph announcement of Korea Peace Day and will put ASCK on their links list; they will also send out an announcement of Korea Peace Day to local VFP chapters nationwide.

Korea Peace Day plans at Univ of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
Theodore Hughes writes: "I am currently arranging for a talk on the demonizing of north Korea by the U.S. and the consideration of ways to extricate the Korean peninsula from U.S. hegemony by a member of the faculty here. I will be giving a talk on the post-1945 history of the U.S. military on the Korean peninsula. This talk will include a discussion of USAMGIK, Nogun-ri, SOFA and crimes committed by U.S. soldiers in south Korea over the past 50 years. I will also be arranging other talks and video presentations, as well as working with the Korean studies community, the local Korean community, the campus at large, and Veterans For Peace to gain the widest possible audience for the event."
Presidential candidates' views on NK-US relations
Karin Lee points out that a nice summary of the positions of the current presidential candidates (the ten Democratic Party candidates as well as Bush) on NK-US relations is available on the Council for a Livable World website.
Korea Peace Day---November 6, 2003
Hi! We are starting ASCK's weblog here. The purpose of this weblog is to help organize Korea Peace Day activities. On Korea Peace Day, there will be events at universities and other institutions around the US and internationally which work toward peace on the Korean peninsula.
